With a new and distinct sound, Amsterdam Throwdown, Kingstreet Showdown is a collaboration brought together by the music Gods. Solex, the Dutch Electronic pro, teams up with Rock and Roll veterans Cristina Martinez and Jon Spencer of Pussy Galore to deliver the utmost fix for an unoriginal music epidemic. From the funky and spoken word-like "Fire Fire" to the humorously smart "Aapie" -- an ode to our evolution -- this trio of music super heroes never disappoints in this jewel of a record. "Racer X" is no exception, with a hip-shaking sound similar to the late James Brown affixed with mischievous strings that take you back to what could be a car chase scene straight out of Foxy Brown . This album is also graced with the Hip-Hop spoken word wonder, Mike Ladd. In "Action", Ladd eloquently supplies a cooler than cool rhyme paired with the sounds of 90's Gangster Rap and 70's Funk. Amsterdam Throwdown, Kingstreet Showdown is a must-have, fit for any true music fanatic's collection.
